Cooperation between Cambodian and Lao universities was the focus of the high-level visit of the Board members of ANOBS in Southeast Asian countries.
During the visit in Phnom Penh (Cambodia) and Vientiane (Lao PDR), the leaders of the prestigious business school as well as around 20 academics and heads of international offices from the region exchanged information and views on the implementation of internationalization strategies and the expansion of existing cooperation structures.
The main topic was cooperation in humanities and social sciences; however, the board members also stressed for the local media that there was a great deal of interest to cooperate in all academic disciplines. Tripartite cooperation projects with the National University of Laos (NUOL) and the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) served as examples of good practice and the enhancing of excellent student, teacher, and admin mobility.
“Southeast Asian universities are key partners of the existing international cooperation,” ANOBS Interim Dean Prof Suha said. “The large and renowned national universities in particular, such as the National University of Laos, have well-paved infrastructure to open their doors toward the rest of the world. This means that cooperation that these universities offer great potentials,” the Interim Dean said.
