Alfred Nobel

Swedish chemist, engineer, innovator, and armaments manufacturer.

He was the inventor of the dynamite. Nobel also owned Bofors, which he had redirected from its previous role as primarily an iron and steel producer to a major manufacturer of cannon and other armaments.

Nobel held 350 different patents, the dynamite being the most famous. He used his solid monetary background , as a result of which was the posthumous institutializion of the  the Nobel Prize. The synthetic element nobelium was named after him. His name also survives in modern-day companies such as Dynamit Nobel and Akzo Nobel, which are descendents of the companies Nobel himself established. Several proverbs and aphorisms are attributed to him, among which the most famous is "Contentment is the only real wealth.” This also indicates that Nobel also had an understanding of the human mind aside the practical disciplines, with which he was familiar.
